Connor Schwab
Hi, I am Connor Schwab, and seeking a mechanical engineering internship, or other suitable position, this summer 2013 in order to learn and add value to the company.
My name is Connor Schwab, and I am current junior and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University in June 2014. My major is supplemented with a design thinking pathway which is a cluster of courses focusing on a holistic approach to the development of new products and processes, emphasizing the creative, interdisciplinary synthesis of new systems. I apply these attributes to my current position as a junior team member on the SCU FSAE team building a fully electric car to race at the FSAE International Competition. This experience has excited my interest for the engineering field, and taught me the importance of managing deadlines and completing detailed, clean work. One of my four leadership positions includes being an EMT which taught me the importance of making confident decisions in times of crisis while always considering the patient’s needs and maintaining a professional demeanor. As the Technology Coordinator on the RLCA Executive Council, I collaborated with my team to plan, schedule, budget, and market quarterly events while managing all online content to effectively engage target audience. Pursuing leadership positions taught me the finite details of communication and dependability that have been integral to my ability to work effectively in teams. I am qualified because of my drive to excel and succeed in a fast-pace environment as evidenced by my ability to balance four time-consuming extracurricular commitments while maintaining a competitive engineering GPA and receiving $10,000 academic scholarship. My strongest and most unique strength is my combination of academic achievements supplemented by my repertoire of skills gained from my diverse experience.
